Who is CARNAGE By Heroespher.com
No, there hasn't been any recent news about Carnage; this is just something I’ve secretly wanted to talk about for a long time. With all the ongoing discussions about Spider-Man and Venom movies, the little psychopathic Carnage obsessive inside me has been trying hard to surface. I couldn’t resist anymore, so I decided to write a piece about Carnage. Whether it satisfies you or not is entirely up to you, but I must admit that even while writing this, I learned a few new things from Wikias, which made me happy. Sometimes, unexpected knowledge from unexpected places can bring joy. So, if you're as crazy about Carnage as I am—or at least curious to know who he is—here’s the story of Cletus Kasady!
Origin Story
Cletus Kasady is known for being a fundamentally troublesome character. His unstable childhood played a significant role in shaping his psychopathic tendencies. He pushed his grandmother down the stairs to her death and tortured his mother’s dog. Later, when his father killed his mother, Cletus refused to defend him in court, effectively leaving himself an orphan. He was sent to St. Estes Orphanage, where his antisocial behavior led to mistreatment by both the staff and other children. In an act of vengeance, Cletus killed the orphanage’s disciplinarian. He also pushed a girl named Manny Calderon, who had rejected him, in front of a speeding bus. And of course, he didn’t forget to burn down the orphanage—because, for Cletus, these were just the beginning.
The psychopathic killer Cletus Kasady became Carnage thanks to his cellmate in prison, Eddie Brock. While sharing a cell, Cletus entertained Eddie with his twisted philosophies about murder. Eddie, who had been bonded with the symbiote that once attached itself to Peter Parker, escaped prison but left a trace of the symbiote behind. That trace found its way to Cletus Kasady, merging with him and giving birth to Carnage.
Powers
The symbiote that took over Cletus Kasady granted him numerous spider-like abilities. With his crimson symbiotic suit, he possesses the following powers:
- Super Strength: Capable of lifting up to 80 tons.
- Super Speed: Faster than any normal human, with superhuman running speed.
- Endurance: Thanks to toxins in his muscles, he fatigues far slower than a regular person. He can also withstand significant blows.
- Agility: His physical coordination exceeds human limits, making him more agile than even the best athletes.
- Enhanced Reflexes: His reflexes surpass human capabilities, giving him an edge in combat.
- Regeneration: While not invincible, he heals from injuries much faster than a normal person. He can even regenerate half his body, although whether he can regrow damaged organs remains unclear.
- Wall-Crawling: Like Spider-Man, he can cling to and climb walls.
- Web-Shooting: Carnage produces an organic web that is incredibly strong, making it nearly impossible to break.
- Camouflage: The symbiote grants him the ability to shapeshift into different forms and outfits.
- Weapon Morphing: He can transform his limbs into various weapons, like axes, and even detach these weapons from his body. However, if these detached weapons remain outside his body for more than 30 seconds, they disintegrate.
- Immunity to Spider-Sense: Carnage is immune to Spider-Man’s spider-sense, thanks to being a spawn of the Venom symbiote.
- Symbiote Infection and Control: By coming into contact with the Darkhold, Carnage gained the ability to infect others with his symbiote and control them.
Weaknesses
Like all symbiotes, Carnage is vulnerable to high-pitched sounds and extreme heat, which cause physical pain and discomfort. While he overcame his sensitivity to sound after interacting with the Darkhold, heat remains a significant weakness.
Even without the symbiote, Cletus Kasady’s psychopathy and obsession with chaos heavily influence his actions. His unstable mind makes him susceptible to manipulation and control by others.
